what means ?

Floating Roots

Through his years of experience as a professional dance artist, Tillmann has developed a unique movement language known as "Floating Roots", inspired by different cultural contexts. This diversity and the exploration of socially relevant issues are central to his choreographic work.

Floating Roots transforms a range of techniques, including elements that incorporate inspiration from contemporary dance, improvisation technologies, somatic work, martial arts and urban dance forms. Tillmanns' focus is on engaging with the body's speed and tension, building physical awareness and fostering connections within the body. He emphasises the mobilisation of nerves and skin, the activation of circulation and endurance, and the exploration of different body textures as they transition into space.

By combining the joy of movement with deep emotion, Floating Roots aims to create a more human and compassionate world in body, mind and spirit. His movement language is precise, detailed, playful, intuitive and intensely physical. Musicality and imagination also play an important role in Tillmann's physical research. His physical coaching is based on biomechanical principles that Tillmann has developed from his background as a physiotherapist.

He triggers the power of the imagination and explores a variety of ways to express one's own truth through his work and vision. His choreographies seek to highlight the differences between individuals while exploring universal human desires, struggles and hopes. Through his art, he contributes to the discussion of identity, society and what it means to be human.
